Tom Henery – Managing Director
“I have been working within the Rail industry for close to 20 years. I started on London Underground in 2006 before undertaking my PTS in 2007. In the early years I worked for various agencies starting as a PTS operative. I gained various track competencies, COSS, Crane controller etc before undertaking my Safe System of Work Planner competency in 2017.
In 2019 I undertook my NEBOSH construction certificate and became a Health and Safety Advisor, often combining the planning and Health and Safety roles on projects. I believe there is an opportunity to increase the level of safety with our safety critical staff by treating our staff with transparency and honesty which will help them buy into our safety culture and the opportunity to progress within the company as it grows”

What safety means to us
As a new business, we see this as an opportunity to imbed our safety culture to all employees. We aim to do this with our company induction for all new starters and a behavioural safety presentation, setting our safety standards.

Core Values
Integrity
We will be honest and transparent when dealing with clients, employees and sub-contractors. We want to ensure we are a trusted supplier and want to build long-term working relationships.
Quality
We will ensure, through the interview and induction stages, that we provide a highly skilled, reliable workforce that aims to exceed the clients expectations.
Respect
We will treat our clients, contractors and staff with dignity and fairness to strengthen our business relations and to create a positive work place culture.
Team work & collaboration
Our team is encouraged to share their experiences from the industry, helping to spread knowledge throughout the Metis Rail team. This includes negative issues so we can learn from what has gone wrong in the past and continuously improve our service.
Accountability
We take responsibility for delivering on our promises and ensure Metis Rail will be a low risk contractor. While also ensuring the staff supplied to projects are fully competent with underpinning knowledge of their roles.

About Us
At Metis Rail, we believe that just holding the qualification, whilst playing a part, does not make you competent to undertake the role.
We aim to ensure all the staff we supply are sufficiently trained, hold the correct competencies, have relevant experience within that role, and have the underpinning knowledge and ability to apply to everyday site conditions.
